Janet Brown
Jefferson County Economic Development Director
I’m passionate about EDCO and economic development because…
I want this beautiful, fun corner of Central Oregon where I grew up to be economically healthy and vibrant, and I enjoy doing my part to help make it happen!
The EDCO project I’m most proud of (and why)…
Helping Aero Air, dba Erickson Air Tanker, with their Enterprise Zone, a first of its kind in the state. Incentives are an important component for new and expanding businesses and Erickson Air Tanker and The Erickson Aircraft Collection are awesome new community partners!
I live in Central Oregon because…
It’s always been my home and in all my travels, I love coming back to the mountains and sunshine.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me…
On a warm tropical island diving, exploring or on the beach with a mai tai!
My Central Oregon happy place is…
Summer time at the lake, relaxing in the sun and sleeping under the stars on our little houseboat, aka our floating tiki bar.
Erin Chaiet
COO
I’m passionate about EDCO and economic development because…
We get to play a part in helping businesses create jobs for Central Oregonians. A popular saying about staff at EDCO is that we are spoiled by interesting work – Every day, every project, every solution is different.
The EDCO project I’m most proud of (and why)…
The Airline Travel Banks that we’ve executed.  They are two of a handful of instances where the entire EDCO team dropped everything to work together towards a very targeted, very strategic goal. That’s not to say other projects aren’t as significant or collaborative, but rarely are our projects so well defined and bear such a laser-line end date.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me…
At my other full-time gig: being a mom to two busy, intelligent, fantastically spirited, lovely girls and a wife to a rockin’ middle school band teacher.
My Central Oregon happy place is…
Walking on the Bend river trail.
My favorite local beverage is…
My homemade sangria.
Caprielle Foote-Lewis
Sisters Director
I’m passionate about EDCO and economic development because…
It’s such rewarding work! Every day we help business owners and entrepreneurs connect to valuable resources to assist with their success. Strategic projects foster local entrepreneurialism with a positive, engaging, and supportive business climate. In addition, everyone is affected by the work we do! By assisting small businesses and entrepreneurs, we contribute positively to society by strengthening the economy. Our assistance helps to protect and enhance our quality of life.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me…
With friends and my teenage sons, Tristan and Brendan, running trails, skiing, mountain biking, sailing, scuba diving trips, riding my horse Lily, listening (or dancing) to music.
My Central Oregon happy place is…
The Peterson Ridge Trail, skiing at HooDoo, or horse camping with the saddlebags.
My favorite local beverage is…
Vaquero IPA at Three Creeks Brewery.
Jon Stark
Redmond Director REDI
I live in Central Oregon because…
Lifestyle and proximity to outdoor adventures.  I am also fond of the culture of the Redmond community, it just feels like home. I enjoy weekend camping trips to local lakes in the summer with my family. Can’t beat the commute to or from – 30-40 minutes!
When I’m not working, you’ll find me…
Fishing on the Deschutes or Columbia River or camping and enjoying water sports with my family.
My Central Oregon happy place is…
Paulina Lake in mid-June – the Kokanee fishing is spectacular.
My favorite local beverage is…
I sure enjoy the margarita’s at Diego’s in Redmond!
My closest brush with fame was…
An opportunity to competitively ski race at the national level, but I fell short of a US Ski Team berth.
Ask me about..
How to catch Deschutes River Steelhead, Columbia River Spring Chinook or Fall Salmon or how to make the best sidecar (brandy margarita) on the planet.

The EDCO project I’m most proud of (and why)…
The Bend Venture Conference is really the crown jewel of EDCO’s work to help entrepreneurs launch, and scale start-ups in Central Oregon. We bring together the most compelling new companies and technologies with the most sophisticated investor group at the biggest and most exciting event in the state. It is truly showcasing the fruits of our labors!

My Central Oregon happy place is…
The Green Lakes Trail!

Roger Lee
CEO
I’m passionate about EDCO and economic development because…
It is an organization that, though very small compared to the regional economy, has the ability to positively influence it by improving the quality and quantity of jobs as well as the diversification of employers operating here.
The EDCO project I’m most proud of…
The team we have at EDCO – staff and board members that have made and are making this regional-local experiment in Central Oregon a model for economic development in our part of the U.S. It is amazing how much more we are accomplishing together as a region that we ever could independently. That accomplishment really translates into a brighter future for our residents.
I live in Central Oregon because…
Of the people and all the region offers in the way of amenities (health care, culture, food & beverage, education) and easy access to outdoor recreation (skiing, fishing, backpacking, horseback riding, cycling, etc). There are few places in the country that are “communities of choice” where amazing people from across the world have a made the conscious decisions, even sacrifices, to live. Professionally and personally it’s energizing and enriching to cross paths with residents who are so passionate about the place they live.
When I’m not working, you’ll find me…
You will find me busy with something! In addition to being outside doing anything with my wife and two children, I’m a music hound, rock hound, landscaper, dry stack mason, woodworker, and historic home renovator.
My Central Oregon happy place is…
Spending time with my kiddos and beautiful wife, Kristen.
My favorite local beverage is…
A tough one – there are so many!  Being a 25-year cider veteran, I’m partial to Red Tank’s Happy Apple and Avid’s Apple Cider, but Oregon Spirit Distillers’ Absinthe is probably my favorite.

The EDCO project I’m most proud of (and why)…
The Annual Made in Redmond Tour where companies share their story through creativity, seeing a need and solving it, and observing the true grit it takes to be successful. This event is inspiring to me.
I live in Central Oregon because…
In addition to the abundant sunshine, creepy crawly things are not as big here as they are on the East Coast. For example I’ve never seen a cockroach the size of a baseball or bees big enough to saddle and ride on.
When not working, you’ll find me…

I’m passionate about EDCO and economic development because…
I don’t know what each day will bring, who I will have the opportunity to collaborate and innovate with, and how these different collaborations will work as a catalyst to benefit individual businesses and the community as a whole. Central Oregon is lucky to have very proactive leaders who want the best for their residents, businesses and overall local economy.
