Between 2010 and 2018, Oregon’s manufacturing sector grew by 23%, outpacing the national growth rate of 12%. BASX, one of the region's fastest growing employers over the past decade, manufactures state-of-the-art cooling systems used across a variety of industries and has been ranked in Inc. Magazine's Top 5000 Fastest-Growing Private Companies list.

COCC's Manufacturing and Applied Technology Center

Working in conjunction with local businesses since 2001, the Manufacturing and Applied Technology Center is a 26,000-square-foot training facility dedicated to creating the employees of tomorrow for Central Oregon manufacturers.

Employment Growth

BASX, which has quickly grown to become Redmond's largest private employer and one of the biggest in Central Oregon, has almost doubled its employment numbers since 2022.

Statewide and National Support

The Oregon CHIPS Act allocated $240 million to create a grant and loan program to subsidize semiconductor business expansion in Oregon.
